mAXBridge Customer Case Studies

Admiral Insurance - mServiceDesk (Partner - ICCM)

Issue
Admiral IT Servicedesk engineers needed to be able to respond to service desk call whilst in the field. A full BlackBerry application was preferred to web based solution and simplicity of use was a key factor.

Solution
mServiceDesk from mAXBridge solutions was implemented so that calls are pushed to BlackBerry devices as they are logged at the call centre. These arrive on the BlackBerry with a characteristic ring tone and provide the engineers with details in order to update and resolve the calls quickly.

Future TV - Sky installer (Partner - JEM Telecom)

Issue
Future TV install sky dishes and used Microsoft Outlook® with Microsoft Exchange® to assign appointments for their installers. They needed to be able to notify their installers of new appointments easily and account for cash brought in at the end of each day without spending a lot of money up front on mobile devices and software. Also there were errors when accounting for cash collected and the process of keeping track of jobs was laborious as handwritten notes were entered into the Sage back office system manually.

Solution
By deploying BlackBerry handhelds on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Future TV were able to provide real-time access to the installers' Outlook calendars which immediately improved the logistics of having engineers on site. To improve the back office process and accounting, mSkyInstaller from mAXBridge Solutions was deployed which extended the BlackBerry calendar so that for each appointment, the installers could simply select values from a set of options and submit them back to the office through the calendar notes field.

Isis - mPhoneTracker(Partner - ISIS)

Issue
Isis were upgrading over 1200 BlackBerry devices for a large legal firm in London. A team of five personnel were collecting the old BlackBerry handhelds activating the new units and training the lawyers when they collected the new devices. However, Isis also had to produce a daily report of the progress. They required a solution that would work across the team so that any member could manage any part of the process which meant keeping track of the status of all the devices collected, activated and released. Finally, there was no room for error when entering the device and IMEI numbers so it was decided that scanning the barcodes on the old devices and new BlackBerry boxes was the only way to manage the data collection.

Solution
A BlackBerry asset tracking solution from mAXBridge Solutions, which supported barcode scanning via Bluetooth scanners, was tailored to allow the IMEI numbers and serial numbers to be dynamically assigned to different fields on the screen. This allowed the team to scan barcodes on the new boxes in any order without worrying which field to assign them to. Automatic screen switching, and status updates, meant that reporting could be done accurately each day using the data sent automatically via the BlackBerry handhelds to a database in the Isis offices which was recording the progress.
